South Suburban Vineyard

Gustavo has been serving as a worship leader for over 20 years, spending the last 15 in the United States alongside his wife, Carissa. They are currently part of the SSV (South Suburban Vineyard Church) community in south Chicago.

Together they are the parents of four daughters, and in the last two years, two of them have begun to lead worship times, reflecting a beautiful legacy of faith and service lived within their home.

His passion is to create intimate and genuine spaces for connection with God through shared praise and worship. Gustavo firmly believes that something deeply special happens when God's people unite in the same musical expression: hearts align, faith is renewed, and God manifests in a tangible way.

In this first meeting of worshipers from La Viña in Barcelona, Gustavo wishes to share his experience and offer practical advice to encourage, equip, and accompany worship leaders in their calling and service.

Born and raised in Chicago, Carissa has nearly 30 years of experience leading worship in various contexts and communities. She was trained at Fire School of Ministry (North Carolina), a key stage that deeply marked her spiritual and ministerial approach.

In 2020, along with her husband Gustavo and their four daughters, she moved to the south of Chicago, where she is currently part of the leadership team at SSV (South Suburban Vineyard Church). Carissa has a deep passion for the relational and spiritual development of worship teams, convinced that authentic growth happens in community and is cultivated over time.

During this conference, Carissa will share practical tools and key principles for forming worship teams that not only play and sing together, but also walk together, grow together, and develop spiritually as a family in Christ.

South Suburban Vineyard

Geno Olison is the Lead Pastor of South Suburban Vineyard Church, a multiethnic congregation just outside of Chicago that he and his wife, Shannon, planted in 2009. He is also a musician, producer, and songwriter who has partnered with Vineyard Worship to help develop Vineyard Soul, a multicultural, gospel-leaning expression of worship music.

Geno has served in national leadership within Vineyard USA and has spent years advocating for worship that sounds like the whole Church, across cultures, backgrounds, and traditions. His ministry is rooted in the belief that worship should be shaped by the people who are actually gathered in our congregations.

Much of Geno’s work lives at the intersection of pastoral leadership and worship ministry, with a particular focus on creating multicultural expressions of worship and writing songs that serve the local church.

During the conference, Geno will draw from his experience as a Vineyard Worship songwriter to share practical insight into worship songwriting. The workshop will focus on both the craft and the practice of writing songs for congregational worship, with space to write, share, and learn together in a collaborative setting.
