Geno Olison is the Lead Pastor of South Suburban Vineyard Church, a multiethnic congregation just outside of Chicago that he and his wife, Shannon, planted in 2009. He is also a musician, producer, and songwriter who has partnered with Vineyard Worship to help develop Vineyard Soul, a multicultural, gospel-leaning expression of worship music.
Geno has served in national leadership within Vineyard USA and has spent years advocating for worship that sounds like the whole Church, across cultures, backgrounds, and traditions. His ministry is rooted in the belief that worship should be shaped by the people who are actually gathered in our congregations.
Much of Geno’s work lives at the intersection of pastoral leadership and worship ministry, with a particular focus on creating multicultural expressions of worship and writing songs that serve the local church.
During the conference, Geno will draw from his experience as a Vineyard Worship songwriter to share practical insight into worship songwriting. The workshop will focus on both the craft and the practice of writing songs for congregational worship, with space to write, share, and learn together in a collaborative setting.
